Dr Bin Lu is a Research Fellow at the Australian National University’s School of Engineering. He holds a PhD in Renewable Energy and a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He is a former senior electrical engineer and has a decade of work experience in electrical systems design and providing consulting services to government and industry. Bin Lu was awarded the 2018 Eureka Prize for Environmental Science with Professor Andrew Blakers and A/Prof Matthew Stocks from the Australian National University’s 100% Renewable Energy Team. His research on 100% renewable energy futures has garnered an audience of 15 million worldwide.

Research interests

 

High renewables penetration scenarios, including electricity, sustainable transport, and electrified heat.

Zero-Carbon Energy for the Asia-Pacific project.
